"The road to hell is paved with good intentions....."

I had a dream of this image. It was a strange dream (most of mine are); I was traveling through labyrinths to get to a center of a place, a peaceful place that belonged to someone else. But this image here was what stood out more than the rest, so much so that I had to draw it out.

I don't know what it means but perhaps the message will come to me later.

I painted.....first time in a very long time. This is a watercolor painting with paper mache' flowers. My digital camera has a hard time picking up details with indoor lighting, so this is actually a very bad image.

Here is a glimpse of the detail....

I actually plan to mat this and then frame it. I think once that is done, I'll take another picture of it.

But for now, here is my Beltane contribution.

I finished Jinger's piece last night. It's on it's way to her today. TEE HEE!!

She had seen the last piece I did for Aasta and wanted something....I could not tell my sweet sista'.....my Jinga' "no". Besides...I love doing projects....I look for excuses to do them. One of the hints I got from her was that she likes moons and stars. PERFECT!!

One night, while I was not able to sleep, this image came to my mind. I knew that it had to be drawn up for her. It represents the balance of both the favorable and unfavorable conditions of our lives......and it illuminates the beauty in both areas. It also shows that the fragments of our lives create whole pictures in the world around us.

Jinger, you may be only a piece in my life....but it's an important, very colorful and appreciated piece indeed. Thanks for the laughter AND your support sista!

The sentiment of Love

This is a drawing I did for Aasta in color pencil....nothing else. She actually should have gotten it today, which is why I'm posting it finally for everyone to see.

She loves loves loves elephants. She likes fairies and other hippy-type things, too but not as much as elephants. And just like an elephant, she has a heart of gold, the absolute most gracious yet ancient soul ever and a smile that would melt your heart. How could I ever resist?

There were some other little added tib-bits in this package for her from all of us to show her how much we love her. I know she'll get a really big kick out of them too.

So to my lovie Love, Aasta......Surprise babydoll! This is my "Sentiment of Love" to you.

Mentoring love

I finished this back in December. I've been stalling on putting it up because this is actually to Mr. & Mrs. Malach. It's sort of a tribute to all that they do in their lives and for their community. But I figured.... "I better put this up before I forget". Besides, I'm never going to get around to doing my comic tribute picture....not for another two months anyway. So.....here it is. The scan is horrible but the original is pretty cool. I wanted it to express child-like appreciation.....because in the eyes of a child, the world is a beautiful place filled with endless possibilities and it is without fear or judegement. So...here it is....."Mentoring love".

Here it is at last.... 36 hours in the making. This is the final project, a bit scaled down but the piece is completed none the less. He asked for it, so here it is!

I started this bad boy on Monday with a few clues as to what inspires my friend. I honestly didn't think it was going to be such a big ta-doo when I sought out the design of this but it ended up taking me almost an entire week to complete it. Hubby says we may just keep it. But alas, it was created for my friend. I hope that he cherishes this damn thing!!!

This picture is an ink sketch. Whenever I'm in deep thought, I find myself coming back to this face. No, not THIS face in particluar, but I draw a similar image of a girl in this position. It's sort of a comfort for me even though I've not ever really been comfortable drawing people.

This particular picture happens to be one of the best I've done. For whatever reason, she turned out empty yet amazingly beautiful. I've always had a fondness for the lost souls.....

This is a pencil sketch. I had drawn this awhile ago on a day that I felt particularly fake. I've always had this feeling that no one can really see who I am or understand me. And I always felt that I had to put on a face to be apart of something. It's been awhile since I've felt THAT alone and thankfully so. But it's nice...in a weird way....to look back and see how far I've come.
